Announcing: THE YANKEE DOODLE AWARD

Picture

The YANKEE DOODLE AWARD represents a goal for students with at least eighteen months of study. To win a Certificate Yankee Doodle must be played at an expected tempo with good rhythm and intonation as well as a clear, focused tone quality.

The required keys are G, D, and A Major.
The following video will remind KII students of our work in class.

JUNGLE DANCE
JUNGLE DANCE is a KII, performance possibility for May 9!
We need to  have listened to the video found on the        HOMEWORK page and to be able to fill in the blanks for the notes in the first two  drawings.
  Then there are other questions:
(I will be reviewing the answers in class on Tuesday.)
  1. How do we know which letter belongs with each note?
  2.  What are the "b" signs in the drawing and how do they change the sound of a note?                                Scroll down to the third drawing
  3.  Why are there dots on the notes?
  4.  What tells us to repeat this section?
  5.  How can we tell which notes are faster than others?
  6. The last drawing has a one-eyed smiley face. What does this mean?
